Why TRX?

Allowing you to control how much you're able to do, their range of TRX and TRX accessories ensures you get the right version for you and your gym. TRX stands for Total Resistance Exercises and is a specialist company in the design and production of suspension training.

The company was founded in 2004 by an ex-navy seal Randy Hetrick who was also a graduate from the Stanford Business School. The TRX brand is now synonymous with suspension training. The original idea was to design something that was easily portable for wherever you were working, in other words as the company website says, ‘The world’s most versatile, affordable and effective gym’.

Which Product?

The product they are most famous for, the TRX Pro and Home versions, are suspension trainers that can be literally used anywhere, as long as you can access a tree, a door or a pole. They have the iconic yellow and black straps and work on the premise that gravity provides you with resistance and can be used for HiiT, core, strength and even yoga.

There’s also a lot of science which underpins this famous product. A recent study in the International Journal of Sport Physical Therapy, comments that suspension training,‘increases muscle activation of selected muscles when compared to exercises performed on a stable surface’.
