Rowing Machines
Rowing machines do exactly what it says on the tin, you sit on it and row. They simulate the actions you would make in a rowing boat, and are recognised as one of the best fat burning and body building workouts you can get in your own home. They are also classed as low impact, meaning that there is minimal stress on your ankle, knee and hip joints.
As rowing machines were one of the first pieces of fitness equipment available for home use, many people are under the misconception that they are still the big and bulky pieces of equipment that were on sale a few years ago. Thankfully, as with so many things, rowing machines have got smaller, neater and are now packed with features to assist you in your work out.
Although you can still get rowing machines which have handles at the sides like oars which you pull to replicate the rowing motion, most of the more modern machines have a handle attached to a strong cable with is around a fly wheel. You can adjust the tension as your strength increases, and continually build your strength and stamina.
Many rowing machines also have LCD screens so you can monitor how far you have rowed, how many calories you have burned, the speed you are rowing etc. Beneficial for all ages, if you intend to just buy one piece of fitness equipment for your home invest in a rowing machine. It will burn fat, tone muscles and give you a great cardio workout so you will look as good as you feel.
